Reflexology
Reflexology is a gentle healing art which dates back to ancient Egypt and China. It focuses on different points and areas of the feet and hands which are linked to every organ and system of the body.
Using precise hand and finger techniques Reflexologist accesses nerve endings on our feet or hands and through skilful manipulation can help to unblock the flow of energy in organs and re-balance all bodily systems. Reflexology is therapy that can benefit the whole family - children, adults, mature adults and pregnant women.
Reflexology is used to treat: stress & anxiety (both for children and adults), migraines, back problems (sciatica, SPD and back ache), breathing problems (sinusitis, head colds), digestive problems (constipation and indigestion), circulation problems (odema/water retention), urinary tract infections, insomnia and fatigue.

Prenatal Reflexology
Reflexology is a wonderful therapy that can be used safely during pregnancy, labour and post partum. It can help induce labour naturally and prepare the body for the birth by balancing the body's systems, especially the endocrine system which is responsible for the secretion of many important hormones.
It can help with constipation and indigestion, odema and water retention, sciatica, SPD and back ache, urinary tract infections, sinusitis, head colds and headaches, insomnia, fatigue, stress and anxiety.
Reflexology can also reduce the length of labour with regular treatments prior to your expectant delivery date. Additionally, it can be used during labour to help boost energy levels and aid muscle relaxation between contractions. It can stimulate the production of natural endorphins during labour which means that after birth babies are usually very calm, suckle better and are less prone to colic.

Fertility Reflexology
Reflexology is a very gentle non-invasive, relaxing therapy which is useful for both male and female to have. It helps to balance the body, relieve stress and helps you to relax and cope better emotionally.
Many women have found that reflexology has helped to regulate an irregular cycle by balancing the hormones, especially were infertility has been ‘unexplained’.
It has been shown that some clients who attended reflexology sessions have achieved a pregnancy during this time span. Others have taken slightly longer and for some it has been a time of relaxation, support and less stress before embarking on their fertility journey. Clients have reported feeling more positive, relaxed, they sleep better, have improved sex drive, more regular cycles, better flow and less pain.

*Dr Edgar Mocanu, Consultant at the HARI Unit, Dublin, regards reflexology as a necessity before embarking on fertility investigations. He recommends that patients have 12 Reflexology sessions (one weekly) before beginning infertility investigations.
Reflexology for Babies
Babies are especially responsive to reflexology. Many mothers will instinctively rub their children’s feet and hands when their child is cranky, crying, or uncomfortable. Reflexology works very well for most babies.
Reflexology is effective and safe, it is based on the principle that reflex points found on the feet and hands correspond to specific organs, muscles, bones and body systems.
Babies’ feet have undeveloped arches, and their skin and bones are usually fairly soft making reflexology an effective and fast modality for babies. By applying gentle pressure to congested areas in the feet, blockages can be released to restore the flow of energy to the whole body.
Results for babies are often experienced immediately and can soothe a cranky baby or help to relieve tummy pains or constipation.

Reflexology for Cancer
When cancer patients face stress, fatigue, or nausea, they may turn to integrative therapies such as reflexology to help ease symptoms. Although each patient responds individually, reflexology can support relaxation and comfort during cancer treatment and offers an alternative to traditional massage.
Reflexology uses pressure and touch on the feet and hands to stimulate nerve pathways and encourage relaxation throughout the body. It is an ancient practice that has developed over thousands of years.
Reflexology may be a good choice for patients who don’t want to be touched, or who can’t be touched or moved during treatment. Unlike massage, it involves only the feet or hands, with no repositioning or undressing required.
Reflexology may benefit patients who feel stressed, anxious, nauseous, or who have trouble sleeping. If patients feel more relaxed on reflexology treatment days, they may sleep better that night and have more energy the following day.
Reflexology can be a reprieve from the stresses of cancer diagnoses, treatments, and everyday life.
